Setting up Table Rate Shipping in WooCommerce
We are going to show you how to set up table rate shipping.
In this example we are going assume the store ships their products to the USA and Canada – the plugin supports every country that WooCommerce supports, but we’ll use these two as examples. We have also included a video of the whole process – you’ll be able to see just how quickly you can set up your shipping rates using this plugin
The Shipping Rates
Before setting up your shipping rules, it is really important that you define exactly what they are. The plugin is only as good as the rules you define!
In our example we have defined the following rules
As you can see we are shipping to the USA & Canada.
For the USA we will have 2 shipping methods: Standard and Express Shipping. For Canada just Standard. In this example we will be using the otal cart value as the trigger for the ranges. So for example, if I had a cart with total value of $45, it would cost $7 to ship Standard in the USA and $10 to ship express. In Canada the same cart would cost $10 to ship Standard – there is no Exress option for Canada.
Setting up the Table Rates in WooCommerce
Now we have defined our shipping rules we need to set them up in the plugin. The video below goes through the actual process of how to do that – take a look, you’ll see how easy it is to achieve some sophisticated rules. The basic process is:
- Set up the different shipping services, in this case ‘Standard Shipping’ & ‘Express Shipping’
- Add the two shipping zones: USA & Canada
- In the USA zone add the rows for Express Shipping & Standard Shipping
- In the Canada Zone add the rows for Standard Shipping
- And you’re done!
The plugin has been designed to be as flexible as possible and also as easy to use as possible. If you have any question please contact us here.
